Amino acid sequence of a major apoprotein from hen plasma very low density lipoproteins.

چکیده
In nonlaying hens or in cockerels, the administration of estrogen dramatically increases the level of plasma triglycerides (1, 2). Luskey et al. (3) have shown that one effect of estrogen was to increase the rate of synthesis of the very low density lipoproteins (VLDIJ’ proteins. The mechanism for this induction is presumably through an increase in mRNA for the yolk proteins (4-6). In a recent report (71, a small molecular weight apoprotein from hen VLDL was isolated and its synthesis studied in an in vitro system using a partially purified mFtNA extracted from livers of estrogen-treated cockerels. In this study, it was suggested that estrogen regulates the mRNA activity for this apoprotein. As a prerequisite to further studies on the regulation of VLDL synthesis in the hen, we now report the complete amino acid sequence of this apoprotein, designated hen apoVLDL-II.

A new apoprotein of human plasma very low density lipoproteins.
A new apoprotein has been isolated from delipidated human very low density lipoproteins by Sepharose 6B chromatography in 6 Y guanidine hydrochloride. This water-insoluble protein was noted to be unique to the plasma very low density and chylomicron fractions. This protein was shown to be homogeneous by urea-DEAE-cellulose chromatography, rechromatography in a guanidine-Sepharose system, sodium...
متن کاملA-Imilano apoprotein. Isolation and characterization of a cysteine-containing variant of the A-I apoprotein from human high density lipoproteins.
A recently discovered familial lipoprotein disorder is characterized by reduced plasma levels of high density lipoproteins (HDL) and elevated triglyceride levels. The clinical aspects of this disorder are presented in an accompanying article (Franceschini et al. 1980. J. Clin. Invest. 66: 892-900). The apoprotein content of the HDL isolated from these patients differed markedly from that of nor...
متن کاملCharacterization of human very low density lipoproteins containing two electrophoretic populations: double pre-beta lipoproteinemia and primary dysbetalipoproteinemia.
Two discrete populations of very low density lipoproteins, with fast and slow pre-beta electrophoretic mobility, were found in 50% of normolipemic and 30% of hyperlipemic individuals selected at random. The two populations were isolated by preparative electrophoresis from five hyperlipemic subjects. The particles comprising the slow component were smaller than those of the fast component and th...
متن کاملImmunochemical heterogeneity of human plasma apolipoprotein B. I. Apolipoprotein B binding of mouse hybridoma antibodies.
Apolipoprotein B obtained from each of the major density classes of human plasma lipoproteins was investigated immunochemically. Eleven different mouse hybridoma cell lines were generated and selected on the basis of their ability to secrete antibodies that were bound by either very low density or intermediate density lipoproteins. Two of these antibodies appeared to be specific for complex epi...
متن کاملHuman intestinal lipoproteins. Studies in chyluric subjects.
To explore the role of the human intestine as a source of apolipoproteins, we have studied intestinal lipoproteins and apoprotein secretion in two subjects with chyluria (mesenteric lymphatic-urinary fistulae). After oral corn oil, apolipoprotein A-I (apoA-I) and apolipoprotein A-II (apoA-II) output in urine increased in parallel to urinary triglyceride. One subject, on two occasions, after 40 ...
